I've been seeing power suits, pant suits, skirt suits, short suits, you name it - all over Instagram, fashion reports, blogs, and worn by my favorite magazine editors. I must say, this is probably by far my best-loved trend for spring, so it was about time that I rocked this coveted frock. I think the number one reason as to why I love a good pant suit is simply because it's easy and versatile to wear. There's nothing more stellar than having an all-in-one garment that you don't have to think twice about. Your pant and jacket match and now all you have left to do is have fun pairing them

with a top, shoes, & accessories! Wear it to work with a feminine blouse or crisp button down and pumps, and then out for drinks or date night with a pair of strappy sandals and dare I say crop top / bra top! Because a suit is essentially so conservative and covered up, the juxtaposition of making it a little sexy is quite fun and unexpected. This particular suit is definitely a step up from my basic all-black skirt suit I had to wear every Tuesday morning during my business orientation class at Howard University - oh the nostalgia!

It's safe to say that this elevated trend won't break the bank either. In fact, this suit that I'm wearing is under $70 for BOTH pieces combined - can you say steal? I was so excited when I saw this boyfriend power suit from the "A New Day" collection at Target because I have been on the hunt for a set like this for ages. I tend to gravitate towards this brand's office attire because of it's unique, charming, and cost-effective pieces. Much like the "WhoWhatWear" collection from Target, this fashion line releases new items every couple of months so your wardrobe consistently remains fresh, up-to-date, and on-trend for the season.

Pops of pale pink were my inspiration for completing this pant suit look by giving the navy pinstripe pattern a daintier look. Fun Fact - I found these Stuart Weitzman heels from Nordstrom Rack for only $59! These shoes typically run about $400, so if that's not an unlikely and fabulous sale, I don't know what is. Finally, I added a structured mini bag and high neck ruffed crop top to set everything off. Take a peek and shop my look below.
